Materials Planning Manager

At RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, we are looking for a Materials Planning Manager to report to the Associate Director, Operations. The manager will oversee the Production Planning and Stores teams, transform Material Requirements Planning (MRP) activities, and ensure robust resource and capacity planning for short‑ and long‑term needs.

• Strategic Planning & SIOP Leadership – Collaborate across departments to drive a robust cross‑functional SIOP process, aligning demand forecasts, production capabilities, and inventory strategies. Incorporate demand drivers from Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing into production schedules.
• Tactical Execution & MRP Management – Mentor manufacturing teams, monitor production performance, and maintain the master production schedule and cost‑center scheduling. Ensure data integrity within the ERP/MRP system, monitor inventory levels, and develop strategies for obsolete inventory. Work closely with Procurement to align supply plans, tracking supplier performance and resolving material shortages.
• Team Leadership & Development – Lead, coach, and mentor a planning & material analysts team and a Shipping/Receiving/Stores Supervisor. Conduct performance reviews, foster continuous improvement, and drive system and process change initiatives.
• Compliance & Performance Monitoring – Establish KPIs such as master schedule adherence and on‑time delivery. Ensure all planning and procurement activities comply with defense regulations (ITAR, FAR/DFAR, ISO 9001/AS 9100) and support internal and external audits.

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical preferred).
• 8+ years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment; at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of SIOP processes, MRP functionality, and major ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, etc.). Infor LN experience is an asset.
• Advanced skills in data analysis, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑influence skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, commitment to continuous improvement, and adaptability in a growth environment.
• Experience with lean manufacturing tools and techniques is an asset.
• Eligibility for Controlled Goods Program clearance and Canadian Government security clearance.

• ACSM CPIM certification (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management).

• Salary range: 101,500 CAD – 151,500 CAD.
