Job summary

Reporting to the Supervisor, Cultivation – Flower Room, the Team Member, Cultivation – Flower Roomis responsible for performing daily tasks related to plant care and health activities at the Aurora River facility.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the continuous scouting and monitoring of the crop for health,pestan diseases.
  • Release biological control agents (BCA’s) as part of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program.
  • Communicate and elevate all issues with the crop and/or the production process to all the relevant parties as required.
  • Participate in cultivation related activities such as pruning, defoliating, crop maintenance,harvesting and cycle turnover as required.
  • Where applicable, must adhere to Aurora's SOPs andcomply with Health Canada’s Cannabis Act. In addition, must adhere to all ISO requirements and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
  • Where applicable, promote and maintain GMP requirements.
  • Recognize unsafe conditions and practices and make corrections to prevent injuries and product loss.
  • Ability to perform tasks in warm environments under direct illumination from grow lights, while consistently adhering to the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Other duties as required.
Knowledge

Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic understanding of plant care and cultivation techniques, preferably in a horticulture or agriculture setting.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately, work effectively within a team, and communicate observations to supervisors
  • Attention to detail in plant monitoring, recording observations, andmaintainingcleanliness in the cultivation area.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and compliance regulations in a cultivation environment.
Education and Experience:
  • University level Horticulture programor equivalent is anasset.
  • Grower Pesticide Safety Course completed would be an asset.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to details
  • Must be able to work unsupervised
Working Conditions:
  • Most/all working hours will be spent inproduction
  • Full PPE to bewornall times during working hours, including booties, coveralls, gloves, hairnet, glasses and surgical mask,certain duties also require use of half face respirator.
  • Physical effortisrequired, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs.
  • Temperaturerangefrom 20 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius with the humidity 50-70%
  • Able to perform cleaning and crop maintenance duties while working on a step ladder.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and after hours as required.

This role is in one of Aurora’s Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified plants and works directly with products. Towards the end of the recruitment process, we require that you undergo a medical screening exam with our third-party vendor.
