The Material Handler plays a critical role in our logistics chain by accurately preparing and loading outgoing finished products, safely unloading incoming materials, and efficiently transporting goods to their designated departments or storage locations. This role is also essential in maintaining an organized, safe, and clean yard and warehouse environment.

Responsibilities
  • Load & Stage:
    Pick, stage, and secure finished products for outgoing shipments.
  • Unload & Route:
    Unload incoming shipments and safely transport materials to designated storage areas or appropriate internal departments.
  • Quality & Verification:
    Verify labeling and shipment information for accuracy. Inspect outgoing products for defects and report any issues to the appropriate department immediately.
  • Cycle Counts:
    Assist with inventory control by conducting weekly, monthly, and annual cycle counts for steel reels and general inventory.
  • Space Optimization:
    Maintain a neat, orderly, and highly organized warehouse, work area, and yard space.
  • Forklift Maintenance:
    Complete daily pre-operation inspection checklists for forklifts and immediately report any performance or maintenance issues.
Qualifications
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 1 years of shipping and receiving experience within a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Certification:
    Valid Forklift License with proven operational experience.
  • Soft Skills:

    Strong multitasking abilities, a high degree of independence, and excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Lifting:
    Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Communication:
    Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension).
  • Mobility:
    Sufficient mobility to frequently and safely mount and dismount a lift truck.
  • Weather Tolerance:
    Ability to work outdoors in the yard for extended periods.
  • Environment:
    Fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Elements:
    Continuous forklift operation with regular exposure to inclement weather at the shipping/receiving docks and the outdoor reel/storage yard.
  • Hours:

    Standard shifts with frequent opportunities for overtime.
