Wearelookingfor an Automation

Technician to support the installation,maintenance, andoptimizationofautomatedmanufacturingequipmentandcontrolsystems on the afternoon shift from 2:00pm-10:00pm. Thishands-onroleinvolvesworkingwithrobotics, PLCs,sensors, andelectro-mechanicalmachinerytoensurereliableproductionperformance. Thesuccessfulcandidatewilltroubleshootequipmentissues, performpreventivemaintenanceandrepairs,assistwithautomationprojectsandsystemupgrades, andcollaboratewithengineering,maintenance, andproductionteamstoimproveefficiency,reduce downtime, and supportcontinuousimprovementinitiatives.

Shift: Monday
- Friday | 2:00pm-10:00pm. The position we are hiring is for the afternoon shift, although the first few weeks of training will take place from 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dailytroubleshootingon Automated Assembly  Line
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance  on Assembly Line
  • Control andmaintainsparepartmanagementincludingchangemanagement
  • Manage setup/changeoverprocessonautomationspecificequipment
  • Performongoingcorrectiveactionsforfailedparts
  • Periodicallyrunproductionequipmentforprototypingpurposes
  • Installation ofimprovedtoolingorequipmenttoexistingautomationequipment
  • Conceptualizeandbuild:racks,shelving,storage structures,guarding(methods,materialswillbeexplained)
  • Performpickupsand/ordeliveriesatlocalshops
  • Reviewmachinedataon adailybasis.
  • Defineresultingactionstogetherwith Production, Automation and Quality department
Education & Professional Experience Required
  • Post-secondaryeducationin

    Process/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineeringorequivalent
  • Musthave5+yearsdirectexperienceinrelatedfieldwithtechnicalexperiencein theoptimizationandoperationofautomationequipment
  • Hands on experience with Automation systems/equipment, PLC’s/HMI, robots controls and associated programming software
Skills and Abilities
  • ProficientwithMS Office products
  • Results-oriented,resourcefulandproactiveattitude
  • Experience with Lock Out Tag Out Procedure
  • Plant maintenance, 5.S., andoperationknowledge
  • Machining capabilities, anasset
  • Knowledge of mechanical,hydraulic,pneumatic systems
  • Mustbeorganized
  • Excellent verbal andwrittencommunicationskillsin English;
    Germanconsideredanasset.
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged sitting,withregularopportunitiesto change positions(e.g.,standing,stretching,useofheight-adjustable desks).

  • Ability tomaintainfocusand performdetailedtasksforextendedperiods.
  • Occasionalexposuretovaryingtemperatures,noise,orvibrationon themanufacturingfloor.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures at all times.
