- Assists in translating Empower Simcoe’s strategic fundraising plan into specific, actionable campaign activities and donor engagement strategies.
- Helps to identify and research new funding opportunities and potential revenue sources, including foundations, corporate sponsors, and community grants.
- Explores grant funding opportunities and assists in grant applications by researching projects and potential funding sources.
- Maintains the donor database, including giving history and donor preferences. Enters donations, produces tax receipts and individualized acknowledgement letters for gifts received, in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Tracking and reporting on fundraising performance metrics regularly, including donation progress, campaign outcomes, and donor retention.
- Supports fundraising communications, including letters of intent and proposals, assisting in information gathering for written materials and collaborating with the communications team to create engaging outreach materials.
- Assists in the preparation and delivery of presentations to service clubs and corporations and submits proposals for support and partnership.
- Supports the planning, logistics, and execution of fundraising events and campaigns, working closely with the Director Fund Development and Donor Relations, Manager Corporate Communications, volunteers, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Supports recruitment, cultivation, and recognition of volunteers where necessary for fundraising activities.
- Helps to develop event calendars and engagement timelines, coordinates volunteers and employee support.
- Assists with post-event evaluations and reporting to measure success and opportunities for improvement.
- Compiles and prepares regular reports on fundraising activities, donor engagement, and campaign progress.
- Proven successful completion of diploma or degree in Fundraising, Communications, Business Administration or an acceptable equivalent diploma/degree program as determined by the employer.
- Experience in grant writing and donor proposals is required.
- Knowledge and understanding of fundraising principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and efficient.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and goal-oriented environment.
- Current valid driver's licence and own reliable transportation to be used in the course of employment.
- Experience in grant writing and donor proposals is required.
- Knowledge and understanding of fundraising principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and efficient.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and goal-oriented environment.
- Current valid driver's licence and own reliable transportation to be used in the course of employment.
- Minimum starting rate of $32.12 per hour; $62,634 annualized.
- 11 statutory holidays are observed, with public holiday pay.
- 4% vacation pay paid bi-weekly during probationary period.
