Oncology Registered Practical Nurse Position

Enhance patient care as a Registered Practical Nurse in the Oncology Pre & Post Surgery department at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. Engage with patients to promote empowerment and continuity of care.

This part-time position requires an RPN with oncology-specific clinical knowledge to support patients within the Thoracic Diagnostic Assessment Program. You will establish therapeutic relationships, educate patients, and provide resources that ensure informed decision-making during the cancer care continuum. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams in various oncology outpatient clinics will also be essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized patient support and education

• Identify patients' health and supportive care needs

• Establish trust through therapeutic relationships

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

• Facilitate continuity of care for patients and families

Requirements:

• Current Certificate of Registration from CNO

• Previous experience in outpatient oncology clinics

• Adult teaching experience required

• BCLS certification mandatory

• Commitment to continuous professional development
