Training will be provided at the company’s Vancouver facility for the first 3 months.

Probation: 3 months

Work hours:

At the initial start‑up phase, all employees will work 9:00 am – 5:30 pm. When the operation transitions to a two‑line system, a two‑shift rotation will run:
Early Shift: 7:30 am – 4 pm;
Late Shift: 1 pm – 9:30 pm. Production Manager is highly likely to be assigned to the early shift (starting at 5:30 am). (30 min meal break + 20 min paid coffee break).

Compensation: $70K–75K/yr (DOE)

Main

Job duties:
  • Lead, monitor, and support the daily activities of the QA/QC team to ensure consistent execution of quality and food safety programs across all shifts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the facility’s HACCP plan and food safety programs, ensuring compliance with Canadian (CFIA/SFCR) and US (FDA/FSMA) regulations, as well as GFSI standards (e.g., SQF, BRC).
  • Manage and lead all internal and external audits and inspections; ensure audit readiness at all times.
  • Monitor, verify, and enforce GMPs, sanitation procedures, allergen control, and regulatory policies throughout the facility.
  • Investigate deviations, quality incidents, customer complaints, and food safety issues; identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing trends, conducting risk assessments, and implementing improvements to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
  • Maintain and oversee the quality document control system; ensure all records and documentation are accurate, current, and audit‑ready.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to QA/QC staff; ensure all team members are knowledgeable in HACCP, food safety, and quality procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including production, sanitation, R&D, and supply chain to resolve quality concerns and support product development.
  • Maintain, update, and enforce QA/QC policies, manuals, SOPs, specifications, and training materials.
  • Track and report on key quality metrics (KPIs), audit findings, and improvement progress to senior leadership.
  • May be required to assist on the production line during emergencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience in food manufacturing, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Able to participate in internal training at the company’s Vancouver facility for the first 3 months (or more if necessary).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or a related field is an asset.
  • HACCP certification required; PCQI certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, GFSI standards, GMP, SSOPs, and sanitation practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a QA/QC team and fostering a culture of accountability and quality.
  • Proficient in root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and process improvement.
  • Experience with quality systems and document control platforms (e.g., Trace Gains, Safety Chain, or equivalent).
  • Experience in document management, including updating quality documents, procedures, and records.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a production environment (temperature variations, noise, standing/walking for extended periods).
  • Availability to work flexible hours/weekends as needed to meet operational demands.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada – No visa support from the employer.
