Job Overview
Quality Assurance Technician – Mission Assurance Team at Raytheon ELCAN Optical Technologies. Responsible for demonstrating compliance to customer requirements and ensuring the accuracy and safety of the Quality Management System records.
Key Responsibilities- Perform day‑to‑day QA activities such as inspections and recommending corrective actions.
- Educate and train the production team on customer expectations, quality standards, and inspection methods.
- Verify that tasks are completed following company, industry regulator, and government agency standards.
- Evaluate data and draft reports, noting deviations from existing standards.
- Document inspection of products at different manufacturing phases to ensure compliance with consistent standards.
- Communicate quality or compliance concerns urgently to management.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Employ best practices, CORE statistical and analytical tools to anticipate and prevent quality issues.
- Prioritize work using analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded before product release.
- Prepare quality support documentation required by the customer and internal management system.
- Manage relationships with manufacturing cost centers to determine quality assessment needs.
- Work independently and as part of a team to prioritize and organize work.
- Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or a post‑secondary diploma/degree in mechanical or electrical technology, or training with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient reading and interpretation of blueprints, mechanical, assembly, and optical drawings.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electronic, and optical measuring/test equipment.
- Experience with LN, Product Center, Excel, and Word.
- Understanding of EXIM and JCA requirements.
- ASQ designation or IPC‑A‑610 Certified IPC specialist.
This position requires Canadian citizenship or permanent residency, a minimum of five consecutive years of residence in Canada, and successful completion of a Controlled Goods and Contract Security Program clearance.
CompensationStarting rate $22.00 per hour. Salary range 47,000
CAD – 84,000
CAD per year.
