Quality Assurance Technician (1-Year Contract)
Location: Stayner, Ontario
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Compensation: $23.00/hour
Job Type: Full-time, 1-year contract (strong potential for permanent hire)
Reporting to the QA Manager, the Quality Assurance (QA) Technician plays a key role in ensuring product quality meets established Quality Management System (QMS) standards. You may also work under the guidance of a QA Specialist on certain projects and initiatives.
This position supports quality‑related activities across supplier materials, process controls, equipment calibration, finished product evaluation, and overall customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Be Doing- Conduct internal quality control testing and verification using appropriate testing equipment
- Generate detailed reports to support quality and production decision-making
- Assist in the development and execution of in-process quality control testing and inspections
- Verify, certify, and document plant processes, equipment, and operational activities
- Participate in troubleshooting and problem‑solving initiatives
- Prepare and maintain documentation including reports, SOPs, work instructions, and batch records
- Work is performed entirely within production environments
- Standing and bending for extended periods is required
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Exposure to pollen, allergens, approved pesticides, chemical vapors, odors, and dust
- Overtime may be required based on operational needs
- High school diploma required; post‑secondary education in a related field is considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Visio)
- Previous experience in quality control, laboratory environments, or use of scientific equipment is an asset but not required
- Strong problem‑solving, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
