Become a key player in campus safety as an Associate Security Officer at Lakehead University. This position focuses on patrol, emergency assistance, and maintaining a secure environment.
Under the supervision of the Director of Security Services, this role centers on preventing theft and ensuring safety on campus. You will patrol buildings and grounds, manage traffic flow, and assist students and faculty. Excellent judgment and communication skills are essential for handling security matters discreetly and professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
• Patrol the campus for criminal activity and policy breaches
• Engage in controlled assessments of campus safety
• Respond to inquiries and provide necessary information
• Offer medical emergency support and escort services
• Document findings and collaborate for incident responses
Requirements:
• Diploma in Law and Security Administration or equivalent
• Valid Ontario Security License and driver’s license
• Familiarity with Datatel Colleague systems an asset
• Strong communication and customer service abilities
• Capacity for rotating shift work and active patrol duties
