The Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS) seeks a full-time Detection Specialist responsible for safeguarding parliament, employees, and visitors.
Your role centers around controlling access to Parliamentary buildings through effective screening of people and their belongings. Conducting your duties requires vigilance, professionalism, and the ability to manage high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Utilize screening technology for people and vehicle inspections
• Interpret images to spot prohibited items
• Report and escalate security concerns promptly
• Direct visitors in a respectful manner
• Maintain vigilance in high-traffic areas
Requirements:
• Post-secondary diploma or equivalent experience
• Attention to detail and strong judgment
• Experience in security or screening settings preferred
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights
• Must obtain security clearance and wear a uniform
