Security Guard

Position: Security Guard with Lakehead University
Protect the campus community as a Security Guard at Lakehead University. Engage with staff and students while ensuring order and safety across university facilities.

You will work under general supervision from the Director of Security Services, focusing on the prevention of incidents and assisting in various emergencies. A diploma in Law and Security Administration or similar qualification is preferred for applicants. With responsibilities spanning from patrolling to responding to medical calls, your work will have a direct impact on the university’s safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular patrols of campus property

• Respond to medical emergencies with urgency

• Enforce parking policies and conduct inspections

• Guide students and visitors to intended locations

• Maintain accurate records and reports of incidents

Requirements:

• Law and Security Administration diploma or related

• Possession of a valid Ontario Private Security License

• Competence in using PCs for security operations

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Valid driver's license and rotating shift availability
