Become a vital part of a security team in the Shelter Security Guard role at Wasauksing First Nation. This position emphasizes the safety and security of residents and staff within a 24/7 Domestic Violence Shelter.
The Shelter Security Guard is tasked with ensuring the well-being of individuals within the shelter while supporting intake processes and responding to emergencies. You will observe resident interactions, uphold safety protocols, and model positive relationships, playing a key role in maintaining a secure environment. This position requires a collaborative spirit and dedication to respecting client confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support intake with bag and pocket checks
• Respond to emergencies promptly and effectively
• Observe resident dynamics to uphold safety
• Enforce positive interpersonal relationships
• Maintain records of incidents and interactions
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• 2-3 years of security experience preferred
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License needed
• CPR Level C and First Aid certification required
• Culture competency and inclusivity skills
Ensure safety and security for all shelter guests while fostering a supportive community.
