We are currently seeking a Utility Person to join our growing team to support a multi year Distribution project in Central Ontario.
Reporting to the Construction Foreman, the Utility Person is responsible for providing support in the construction of overhead and underground electrical power systems and related infrastructure. This is a hands-on role where your strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety will directly support our field operations and contribute to the overall success of the team.

These positions are based in Central Ontario, and candidates must reside locally or within a reasonable commuting distance.
Duties and Responsibilities
:
Support the construction of overhead and underground electrical distribution systemsRead, interpret, and verify utility locates to ensure safe and accurate excavation and construction activitiesOperate a variety of heavy and light equipment, including mini-excavators, skid steers, and backhoes, in a safe and efficient mannerPerform rock drilling, chipping, and boring as required to support project workAssist with site preparation, material handling, and cleanup to maintain a safe and organized work environmentFollow all safety protocols, including ground disturbance procedures and traffic control measures, to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standardsSupport the Foreman and crew in daily operations and contribute to a positive team culture focused on safety and performanceRequirements
Ground Disturbance, WHMIS, Traffic Control, and Book 7 trainingDemonstrated experience in reading and verifying locatesHands-on experience with rock drilling, chipping, boring, and equipment operation (mini-excavator, skid steer, backhoe)Valid Driver’s License and ability to provide an acceptable driver's abstractExperience in distribution groundwork or electrical utility construction considered a strong assetExperience hauling and operating heavy equipment considered an assetStrong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanshipThis project will be a unionized worksite. Candidates must be willing to join Canadian Union of Skilled Workers (CUSW)
