Job Description POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Bail Program Manager, this role will provide case management to an assigned group of clients released on bail. The Bail Client Supervisor will attend local court offices to interview clients, complete intakes, and verify (risk assessment to ensure suitability for a surety) information. The incumbent shall provide support to the Justice of the Peace in the Bail Court, monitor client progress, and provide case management for clients once released.

Accountabilities

Direct Case Management Services
  • Attend bail court to complete new client intakes and provide information to the court regarding bailees.
  • Develop and implement case management of assigned clients; assist clients in establishing goals, monitoring progress, and preparing discharge plans.
  • Interview clients and inmates at provincial detention facilities and the Bracebridge & Barrie Courthouse to ensure they meet the requirements of the program.
  • Fill out new client information verification forms and ensure the information is accurate.
  • Document case/supervision notes and daily log entries for each client after each meeting.
  • Work with clients for the duration of the bail life cycle to mitigate their risks and connect them with community partners such as alcoholics anonymous, drug treatment programs, employment opportunities etc.
  • Assist clients with information on the judicial process and on community supports.
  • Assist in the preparation & facilitation of life skills classes and instruction for clients.
  • Monitor appropriate behavior; intervene in crisis situations, provide emotional support and advocacy as required.
  • Engage in the development of inter‑personal relationships that promote dignity and respect.
Communication And Reporting
  • Meet with clients as per the terms and conditions of the court; may require daily, weekly, or monthly reporting for each client.
  • Complete monthly and quarterly reports as required.
  • Create and maintain list of reports required for health and safety compliance purposes.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as compiling and maintaining accurate case files and appropriate documentation related to clients.
  • Maintain caseload with regularly scheduled sessions and record keeping on all contacts and sessions as required by policy and procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate communication of relevant concerns being mindful of the guidelines of the referral base and confidentiality procedures: maintain confidentiality of all client records, documenting all relevant information and update logs and client files regularly.
Community Networking And Partnerships
  • Liaise with court officials, Crown Attorney’s, police, and defense lawyers regarding client care.
  • Meet standards as required by the Attorney General and the Ontario Association of Bail Verification Support Services (OABVSS).
  • Work cooperatively with the community partners and complete necessary documentation as required.
  • Network with Salvation Army, government and community social service providers to coordinate resources for the benefit of clients and programs.
  • Coordinate care services help clients identify and obtain resources.
  • Complete other duties as required.
