Position: Family Service Worker for Indigenous Communities
Location: Rama

Join the effort to support Indigenous children and families as a Family Service Worker. This position focuses on risk assessment, cultural competence, and collaboration with community resources in Rama First Nation and Barrie, Ontario.

As a Family Service Worker, you will play a significant role in assessing allegations of abuse and neglect while maintaining cultural sensitivity. Your responsibilities will involve developing service plans, engaging families, and promoting their strengths throughout the child welfare process. This role requires both analytical and interpersonal skills to foster meaningful connections and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate referrals and conduct thorough assessments

• Collaborate with families and community members

• Coordinate services for vulnerable children and families

• Participate in family-centered consultations

• Prepare legal documentation and represent cases in court

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

• Familiarity with Indigenous cultures and their values

• Strong interpersonal and crisis intervention skills

• Valid Ontario Driver’s License and insurance coverage
