Culturally Sensitive Family Service Worker

Location: Rama

Help enhance the lives of Indigenous families as a Family Service Worker with Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child & Family Services. This pivotal role prioritizes culturally-informed strategies to support child welfare.

Located in Rama First Nation and Barrie, ON, the Family Service Worker evaluates the needs of families and develops risk assessment strategies that respect Indigenous traditions. Your efforts will focus on empowering families through collaboration, assessment, and intervention tailored to their unique situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate needs

• Develop and implement service plans with families

• Facilitate consultations with community members

• Provide ongoing support and counseling to children and families

• Document case information accurately and comprehensively

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent

• Minimum three years in a related field

• In-depth knowledge of Indigenous cultures and practices

• Excellent communication and crisis resolution skills

• Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
