Access Worker

Position: Contract Housing Access Worker Role
Join Empower Simcoe as a Contract Housing Access Worker to support individuals facing homelessness. Drive positive change through skill development, advocacy, and dedicated service navigation for clients.

This contract position, lasting until December 31, 2026, focuses on helping vulnerable individuals and families secure affordable housing. Key responsibilities include maintaining caseloads, advocating with landlords, and conducting information workshops. Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills and experience in social services or related fields.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a caseload of housing clients

• Advocate with landlords on clients' behalf

• Develop a network of rental housing options

• Facilitate budgeting and household management training

• Assess housing needs and assist in securing accommodations

Requirements:

• Post-secondary diploma in social services or related field

• Minimum one year experience in housing promotion

• Strong knowledge of human rights and legislation

• Familiarity with community resources and assessment tools

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
