Social Navigator Night Shift

Position: Social Navigator Night Shift at Wasauksing
Join Wasauksing First Nation as a Social Navigator & Intake Worker for the night shift. Provide compassionate support and crisis counseling to Indigenous residents and shelter guests in need.

In this critical role, you will be the first point of contact for men, women, and children seeking refuge at the emergency shelter. Your primary responsibilities include assessing client needs, providing informal crisis counseling, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Collaborate with various social services while ensuring the confidentiality of clients' personal information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a warm and respectful shelter environment

• Interview clients to assess needs and eligibility

• Provide informal crisis counseling and safety planning

• Ensure confidentiality of all client information

• Keep up with health and social service programs

Requirements:

• Degree in social work or related field preferred

• 2-3 years of frontline social service experience

• Excellent listening and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication skills with computer literacy

• Vulnerable sector check required
