Overview

To provide coverage in the Live‑in Treatment house(s). This position supports youth and their families who are experiencing significant social, emotional and behavioural challenges in an intensive 24‑hour therapeutic setting.

Qualifications

Post‑secondary education, Child and Youth Worker (CYW) or equivalent.

Two years’ experience supporting youth with complex needs in a therapeutic environment is preferred.

Demonstrates strong engagement skills using a strengths‑based approach and partners with client/family in treatment planning, goal setting and anticipated outcomes.

Recognizes, initiates and adapts to changing conditions and situations in the workplace.

Demonstrates awareness for the backgrounds, values, beliefs and traditions of staff, clients, families and communities we serve.

Continuously assesses and challenges assumptions, personal unconscious bias and commits to understanding diverse perspectives, experiences and their intersectionality.

Commits to ongoing training to build the knowledge, awareness, and skills that contribute to creating a culturally safe environment for staff, clients and families.

Competency and effective use of database and Microsoft Office systems.

Confident, articulate and professional when communicating verbally and in writing.

French language is an asset.

Physical Requirements

Required to work varying shifts on weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Must be able to effectively deliver crisis intervention using a Ministry approved training program including physical techniques. Training will be provided.

Willingness to travel using agency vehicle. Must have a valid driver’s license with minimum G2.
