Salary
$86,348 to $106,671-(Plus Correctional Service Specific Duty Allowance of $2,140 per year. Allowance for Master's Degree in Social Work is $3,850. These allowances are subject to change, modification or revocation, with notice.)

Intent of the process
The immediate need is to fill a position on an indeterminate basis. A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions with various tenures (such as indeterminate, term, casual).The placement of CSC employees with an affected status as a result of a current or future workforce adjustment exercise may be considered ahead of other candidates for a deployment or an appointment.
Affected status as defined in the Workforce Adjustment Directive or appendix to the relevant collective agreement.

Candidates must meet all essential qualifications to be appointed to a position. This will be determined through the use of various evaluation tools.

Indeterminate employees at the same group and level, or equivalent may be considered for deployment, assignment/secondment prior to the assessment of other applicants. An assignment, secondment, or acting appointment requires approval of your supervisor.

Registration as a Social Worker with a provincial registering/licensing body
Operational Requirements
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willingness to travel frequently within a province or region.
Ability to work overtime on short notice or to work variable hours.
A valid driver's license.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Social Work.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in providing Social Work services to clients in mental health settings or correctional settings.
Experience working independently with minimal clinical supervision.
Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a Master's degree in Social Work from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Social Work.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in the provision of Social Work services to culturally diverse populations.
Experience providing Social Work services in community mental health, medical, acute or forensic settings.
Experience providing crisis intervention services.
Experience establishing, developing and managing productive and cooperative partnerships with community-based services (i.e., community capacity building).
Experience providing Social Work services to vulnerable populations (e.g., cognitively impaired/brain-injured, geriatric, adults who are disadvantaged or in conflict with the law, Indigenous peoples, etc).
