Support the well-being of Indigenous women in the role of Aftercare Worker with ONWA. This impactful position focuses on mental health, crisis intervention, and culturally-informed care.
The Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA) seeks an Aftercare Worker to provide holistic support for Indigenous women and families. Candidates should have a strong background in mental health advocacy, trauma-informed approaches, and experience providing case coordination. This role involves counselling, follow-up support, and advocacy to facilitate healing and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide evidence-based counselling and aftercare services
• Conduct crisis intervention and risk assessments
• Facilitate referrals and follow-up support
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Document case notes and program reports
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or Social Work Diploma preferred
• Minimum three years of experience supporting Indigenous populations
• Strong skills in crisis intervention and case management
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities
• Knowledge of Indigenous culture and community resources
