Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier – On‑Call Relief

Bracebridge, ON, Canada
Canada Post is recruiting dependable, organized individuals to deliver mail on an on‑call basis to various rural and suburban communities.
As an on‑call relief employee, you will work independently, operate a motor vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions, and have the opportunity to grow with Canada Post. You may be eligible for permanent rural and suburban mail carrier positions.
Responsibilities
Sort, collect and deliver mail items in a safe and timely manner.
Acquire and maintain knowledge of local infrastructure, including roads, customers and delivery receptacles.
Ensure mail is securely in your possession.
Process CPC products and services such as Change of Address Notification, Damaged Mail and IdB.
Wear Canada Post identification while on delivery and ensure its visibility.
Lift and carry items up to 50 lb (22.7 kg).
Operate a motor vehicle in all kinds of weather and traffic conditions.
Qualifications
Have a satisfactory safe driving record (driver's abstract required).
Possess a valid permanent provincial driver’s license – Class 5 or G.
Vehicle Requirements
Minimum cargo capacity of 50 cu ft (1415 L).
Automatic transmission.
Power windows.
Metal roof‑top and accessory power outlet to accommodate Canada Post sign and flashing light.
Middle of passenger window sill between 38” and 45” from the ground and maximum interior width of 56”.
Fifth door/hatchback for oversized and bulky items (preferred).
Provide and maintain the required automobile liability insurance for vehicle use while employed.
Notify your insurance company of the vehicle’s use for Canada Post duties.
