Location: Bradford West Gwillimbury
Make a difference in the cancer community as a Wheels of Hope driver with the Canadian Cancer Society. Provide vital transportation for clients to their treatment appointments 3-4 times a month.
This ongoing volunteer role requires a minimum 6-month commitment, with drives scheduled Monday to Friday, mainly between 8am and 6pm. You'll assist clients by providing rides, confirming travel arrangements, and ensuring a safe environment. A dedication to client safety and adherence to Canadian Cancer Society guidelines is essential for this impactful experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Offer transportation to cancer patients for their appointments
• Keep communication consistent with clients and Transportation Specialist
• Confirm travel plans through phone contact
• Assist clients with getting in and out of the vehicle
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols during drives
Requirements:
• Valid full driver's license with an acceptable record
• Minimum $1M liability insurance on a smoke-free vehicle
• Flexibility in schedule to meet client needs
• Ability to handle a criminal background check
• Commitment to true client support and well-being
