Customer Care representative - North Customs - Afternoon Shift

Job Description

• Ensure shipments are not delayed at border by accurately completing documentation or providing information to ensure documentation is complete within pre‑assigned time limits.
• Ensure customs paperwork is legal and accurate.
• Examine all incoming customs invoices to check for accuracy of weights, values, tariff codes, quantity, GST, duty and excise tax.
• Flag shipments that may require amendment and pass appropriate information along to Team Leader to avoid fines.
• Track shipments to ensure they have been released by customs – go online and track entries by reference number, print a copy and attach it to the customs document.
• Prepare and apply for import permits.
• Ensure customs information and knowledge is constantly kept up to date.
• Coordinate with other internal staff regarding any customs issues.
• Act as liaison between various levels of government and customs officials.

Shift: Monday - Friday 3pm-11:30pm

• Customs experience, knowledge of the CBSA processes.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strict attention to detail and strong sense of urgency.
