Position Summary:

Responsible for the supervision and safety of children, while providing high quality Prime Time programs that allow for positive interaction with children and their families.

Reports To:

Child Care Director

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist in maintaining attendance and sign-in/out records, ensuring proper release procedures and identification.

Describe program features and procedures when needed.

Maintain good relations with parents and escalate serious issues to the Coordinator or Program Director.

Set up and break down equipment as necessary.

Ensure health and safety of participants, cautioning against unsafe practices.

Perform rescue/first aid when necessary, report accidents, and maintain a clean environment.

Report equipment and supply deficiencies.

Arrive prepared 15 minutes prior to shift, in proper attire, and remain attentive to participants.

Arrange coverage for absences and notify the Coordinator or Program Director.

Attend staff meetings and demonstrate the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Stay informed about programs and facility schedules, and provide personalized service regarding other YMCA services.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED preferred.
