Position Summary:

Responsible for the supervision and safety of children, while providing high quality Prime Time programs that allow for positive interaction with children and their families.

Reports To:

Child Care Director

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining attendance and sign-in/out records, ensuring proper release procedures and identification.
  • Describe program features and procedures when needed.
  • Maintain good relations with parents and escalate serious issues to the Coordinator or Program Director.
  • Set up and break down equipment as necessary.
  • Ensure health and safety of participants, cautioning against unsafe practices.
  • Perform rescue/first aid when necessary, report accidents, and maintain a clean environment.
  • Report equipment and supply deficiencies.
  • Arrive prepared 15 minutes prior to shift, in proper attire, and remain attentive to participants.
  • Arrange coverage for absences and notify the Coordinator or Program Director.
  • Attend staff meetings and demonstrate the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
  • Stay informed about programs and facility schedules, and provide personalized service regarding other YMCA services.
  • Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or GED preferred.
