Senior Quantity Surveyor

An established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
Provide accurate and timely cost and value reporting at project and business unit level Draft and update monthly CVRs, cost plans, and commercial plans Deliver accurate cash flow reporting and manage cost control and project forecasting Compile upstream applications for payment through to final account settlement Lead subcontract procurement, negotiation, and post-contract management Manage main contract and subcontract agreements primarily IChemE and NEC forms Protect the business from commercial and contractual risk throughout the project lifecycle Share best practice and proactively advise site teams on cost management and efficiencies Support and guide junior commercial staff Liaise with clients, third parties, and supply chain on all commercial matters Essential Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
Previous experience in the construction industry in a commercial role NEC3 and NEC4 contract experience — essential Experience on complex and/or higher value projects or managing a portfolio of projects concurrently Familiarity with IChemE and NEC forms of contract and knowledge of Construction Law Proven experience in commercial management and subcontractor procurement Demonstrable experience of monthly forecasting and cost analysis Excellent communication, numerical, and IT skills including Microsoft Office Experience managing or mentoring junior commercial team members Desirable:
Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent RICS qualified or working towards CSCS card Experience working for a direct delivery contractor Experience in the water or civils industry Previous experience working in Cumbria advantageous
