Mechanical Engineer – Kimberly‑Clark

Location: Barrow Mill, Barrow‑In‑Furness, England, United Kingdom

Role Overview

As a Mechanical Engineer you will be part of the highly skilled Asset Support Team, working under the direction of the Converting Asset Leader to provide both proactive and reactive maintenance support within your area discipline. The role is hands‑on – involving planned maintenance, troubleshooting, installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical components of machines and assets in the mill facility, in accordance with our reliability strategy and site safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and improve maintenance practices in a facility that produces products for a quarter of the world’s population.
  • Provide proactive and reactive maintenance support within your discipline.
  • Install, maintain and repair mechanical components of machines and assets in the mill facility.
  • Support all site condition monitoring activities.
  • Communicate closely with the immediate team and Asset Leader to share the condition of your area of responsibility.
Qualifications
  • A strong awareness for safety.
  • Demonstrate and drive the 3 Safety Obligations.
  • Take decisive action when in “red condition” versus standard.
  • Conduct all necessary process health checks and essential care rounds.
  • Identify appropriate solutions to failure using analysis techniques such as Asset Criticality, FMEA/RCM, Weibull analysis.
  • Develop, track, measure and analyse site reliability metrics and drive appropriate action plans.
  • Work best under pressure, deliver high value to the team and own issues through resolution.
  • Maintain a flexible mindset and practice, collaborating with teammates toward common goals.
