We are now recruiting a Risk Manager to join our high performing Project Controls team, supporting major infrastructure and construction projects within a highly regulated environment. This is a key role in shaping risk strategy across a large project portfolio, working closely with project leaders throughout the full lifecycle; from tender and design through to delivery, testing and commissioning.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading and developing a team of risk practitioners
  • Acting as the custodian for risk identification, assessment and reporting across the portfolio
  • Facilitating risk workshops and producing high‑quality outputs
  • Owning and maintaining portfolio‑level risk registers
  • Running SWOT analysis and Monte Carlo simulations
  • Supporting risk treatment and mitigation strategies
  • Monitoring and reporting programme and project risks to senior management
  • Providing insight to support strategic planning and decision‑making
  • Evaluating change control impacts and advising project teams
  • Collaborating with Project Managers and stakeholders to provide risk‑based recommendations
  • Supporting assurance activities and producing performance packs for senior leadership
  • Conducting trend analysis, KPI reporting and milestone tracking
  • Applying appropriate techniques for benchmarking, audit and independent analysis
  • Coaching and developing the wider project community in risk processes
  • Working closely with other project controls functions including planning, earned value and change control
What you’ll bring
  • Significant experience in construction or engineering environments
  • Strong background in risk management on major projects
  • Experience in nuclear, civil engineering or complex infrastructure sectors
  • NEC3/NEC4 experience
  • Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills
  • Ability to influence, challenge and guide multidisciplinary teams
  • HNC/HND/Degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional membership (APM, Acost

    E or similar) — or willingness to work towards it
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills; experience with ARM, ERM, Safran and CEMAR is desirable
