Neonatal Qualified in Specialty 'QIS' Nurse

Are you a passionate and dedicated neonatal nurse looking for a challenging career move? We are recruiting Band 6 Neonatal Nurses with QIS for our Neonatal Services at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust.

Neonatal Services are provided at Furness General Hospital (base site) and Royal Lancaster Infirmary. The Special Care Baby Unit at Furness is part of the South Lakes Birth Centre, while the Royal Lancaster Infirmary hosts a level 2 unit with intensive, high dependency and special care cots.

• Provide high quality, family‑centred care using excellent clinical knowledge and skills.
• Lead and coordinate shifts, working well independently and as part of a team.
• Support and mentor junior staff and pre‑registration student nurses.
• Contribute to a positive, team‑based attitude and promote on‑going learning.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and specialist interest groups.
• Support families and promote UNICEF Baby Friendly and BFI Stage 2 accreditation.

• Experience in a neonatal unit at senior level.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organisational and initiative.
• Reliable and flexible, with a commitment to professional development.
• Confidence, maturity and the ability to motivate self and others.
