About The Role
We’re looking for a Quality Control Engineer to join our team supporting major projects in Cumbria, with a key focus on our framework in Barrow‑in‑Furness. This is a permanent role.
What You’ll Be Doing Quality & Compliance- Ensure all project activities meet contractual, regulatory, and company quality standards
- Develop and maintain inspection, test, and quality plans aligned to customer requirements
- Oversee document control, configuration management, and technical submissions
- Manage non‑conformances, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Deliver progressive assurance across the full project lifecycle
- Ensure inspections, testing, and handover documentation are completed and compliant
- Provide clear reporting on quality performance, risks, and trends
- Act as a key member of the project team, providing expert quality guidance
- Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and supply chain partners
- Promote a proactive quality culture across all teams and contractors
- Identify and mitigate quality‑related risks
- Capture and share lessons learned across projects and the wider business
- Drive continuous improvement and best practice adoption
- Monitor and report on supply chain quality performance
- Support suppliers in delivering against quality expectations and plans
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management best practice
- Experience in quality assurance within engineering, construction, or major projects
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills—confident engaging at all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality systems
- A safety‑first mindset with a commitment to high standards
- Ability to influence and engage teams and stakeholders
- Proactive, solutions‑focused approach with strong problem‑solving skills
- Passion for continuous improvement and delivering excellence
