Relief Security Officer

Security Officer – Relief (42 hours per week)

Location: Barrow in Furness, Ulverston, UK

Hours: Guaranteed 42 hours per week, permanent. Days, nights and weekends.

Salary: £14.57 – £15.27 per hour (including shift allowances)

Responsibilities:

• Screen visitors, staff and contractors to ensure smooth site access.
• Conduct indoor and outdoor patrols focusing on security, health and safety.
• Respond swiftly to emergencies, evacuations and security threats.
• Maintain logs, incident reports and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Monitor surveillance and conduct staff searches if required.
• Hand over shift duties to ensure continuous protection.

Qualifications:

• Valid SIA licence or willingness to attend 5‑day SIA course.
• Strong communication skills and customer‑focused approach.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Born British citizen or British passport holder for at least 5 years.
• At least 5 years of verifiable work history.
• Ability to obtain SC clearance; DBS check required.
• Physically fit to accommodate significant walking and standing.
