A welcoming and well-established school in the London Borough of Hillingdon is seeking a professional, organised, and friendly School Administrator / Receptionist to join its busy front office team.
This role sits at the heart of the school community and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with young people and families, and can maintain a calm and professional approach throughout the school day. You will be the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and external agencies, helping to ensure the smooth daily running of the school office.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a warm and professional reception service to visitors, parents, and pupils
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries efficiently
- Support attendance administration, including late arrivals and absence recording
- Maintain accurate pupil records using school MIS systems (e.g. SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom)
- Assist with general administrative duties such as letters, reports, and data entry
- Support school events, trips, and communications with families
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed for all visitors and contractors
- Provide administrative support to teaching staff and the wider school team
- Previous experience in a school or busy office environment (desirable but not essential)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and administrative systems
- The ability to remain calm and professional in a busy reception setting
- A positive, team-focused attitude and strong work ethic
- An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding within an education setting
