About Us

The Shared Regulatory Service operates across the three partner Councils, Bridgend, Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan under a single management structure. The Service is normally accountable to a Joint Committee of Elected Members; however, this role will primarily require the post holder to serve the Licensing and Public Protection Committees of each partner council and in some instances each cabinet or scrutiny committee on corporate matters.

Description
:
This office‑based role is located at Enterprise House, Bute Street, opposite the Wales Millennium Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and determining taxi and private hire driver licence applications managed by the Licensing Section of Cardiff Council. The postholder will also provide administrative support across a range of other licensing functions, including alcohol and premises licensing and other licensing regimes administered by the department, as well as carrying out general administrative and clerical duties to support the effective delivery of the service.

About

You

You will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ general administrative experience
  • Competence in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing applications and records
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with experience of dealing with customers or the public
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when required
