As a Challenging Behaviour Assistant, you will support students with additional behavioural needs, helping create a safe and positive environment. The position is based in Newham, offering valuable experience within the local community of Newham.

• Supporting students with challenging behaviour throughout the school day, both in and out of the classroom.
• Working 1:1 or in small groups to help pupils manage emotions, regulate behaviour, and stay engaged in learning.
• Assisting teaching staff by implementing behaviour plans and personalised strategies.
• De‑escalating situations calmly and safely, following school behaviour policies.
• Monitoring student behaviour, recording incidents, and reporting concerns to pastoral or SEN teams.
• Encouraging positive routines, social skills, and respectful interactions.
• Supervising students during transitions, break times, and lunch to ensure safety and positive conduct.
• Providing consistent encouragement, praise, and structure to help students maintain focus.
• Liaising with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support student progress.
• Helping create a supportive, structured environment where students can succeed academically and emotionally.
