Venue Technician – : VT
- Salary:
Starting salary £14,882.40 (pro-rata of £29,764.80) - Location:
Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, EN11 8BE
. The Spotlight - Contract:
Permanent - Working pattern:
Part Time - Hours:
20 hours per week - Closing date: 31/05/2026
- Provide technical operation support for The Spotlight’s busy events and entertainments programme.
- Ensure smooth running of all technical aspects of productions, including cinema, conferences, and private functions.
- Rig, set up, and operate sound, lighting, and stage equipment according to the venue’s schedule.
- Supervise and manage casual technicians as part of a varied technical role.
- Apply health and safety practices, communicate effectively, and work flexibly as a team player.
- At least three years of experience as a professional theatre technician in a multifunctional venue.
- Experience with sound, lighting, set building, and stage management in theatre productions.
- In‑depth knowledge of Health and Safety issues.
- Excellent customer care, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility for duties and working hours, including evenings and weekends.
- First Aid at work training (or willingness to obtain).
- Fire Marshal training (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong logistical skills.
- Fluent spoken and written English for public interaction.
- Electrical installation and formal backstage technical qualifications desirable.
