The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented Financial Analyst – Costing to join our client's Global Operations Finance team in South Wales. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a leading manufacturing organization by ensuring accurate product and material costing processes. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams and senior management to maintain the integrity of costing data, support financial control procedures, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
The role involves managing complex costing activities, supporting new product launches, and participating in system enhancements to optimize financial accuracy and operational efficiency. This position is ideal for professionals looking to develop their expertise in manufacturing finance, particularly within a dynamic and innovative environment.
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in product costing within a manufacturing setting, with a strong understanding of financial principles and cost analysis techniques. Experience working with ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle, is highly advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective collaboration across departments. A strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential qualities.
Relevant qualifications include a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, along with professional certifications such as CIMA or ACCA being a plus.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and validating the accuracy of ERP material master data, including product costing configurations, bills of materials, and routings. You will coordinate the annual cost roll process, ensuring alignment with financial controls and operational expectations. Supporting the introduction of new products, you will provide critical financial input into business cases and support decision‑making processes.
Managing month‑end activities, you will analyze and report on cost variances, identifying areas for improvement. You will oversee production order and rework cost control, ensuring costs are tracked and validated accurately. Additionally, you will support continuous improvement initiatives by tracking progress against plans and validating results. Your role will also involve participating in the implementation of ERP system enhancements, ensuring smooth integration and data integrity across platforms.
