Domestic Housekeeping Supervisor. Can be based at either Cockermouth or Keswick Hospital while also covering services in Workington, Wigton Hospital and Maryport Hospital.
1 × 26‑hour post. Working rolling rota shifts. 2 weekends out of 3. Shift patterns vary between 1pm‑8pm, 2pm‑8pm & 3pm‑8pm.
Responsibilities- Supervise a team of housekeeping staff in providing good quality, safe catering and cleanliness services to wards and departments throughout Trust premises for all staff, patients and visitors.
- Promote and provide a high standard of domestic services and in‑house catering.
- Manage staff distribution across departments and sites, adjust for staffing levels to maintain adequate coverage.
- Supervise all staff, monitor standards of work during shifts, demonstrate duties and provide training to new and existing staff.
- Deal effectively and efficiently with departmental problems and complaints, motivate staff and maintain effective communication.
- Complete weekly timesheets, monitor and maintain sickness records for all staff, complete necessary paperwork and record on the ESR system.
- Adhere to Trust Infection Prevention Policies.
- Maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment; ensure all equipment is in good working order, checked, maintained and recorded.
- Maintain a positive Trust image, ensuring security of the department and preparing for following days’ shifts.
- Delegate daily tasks and monitor work to maintain a high cleanliness standard; ensure a safe meal regeneration and delivery service is in operation daily.
- Ensure all cleaning schedules are adhered to, deal with problems and complaints promptly.
