We are pleased to be able to offer specialty posts in our medical teams for Respiratory Medicine, Neurology and Care of the Elderly, committing to the assessment and ongoing care of medical patients in Jersey General Hospital. The post holder will be a member of the medical team and will be able to perform specialist duties in areas such as Acute Medicine, Neurology, Respiratory Medicine working directly with those consultant teams.

The post holder will be pivotal in the clinical management of presentations to Jersey General Hospital.

• Medical Wards
• Specialist Teams and Outpatients
• Ambulatory SDAC areas where appropriate

To undertake clinical practice within the medical wards ensuring that personalised, evidence-informed medical care plans are delivered to all patients and that they are appropriately documented and regularly evaluated.

To work in close partnership and liaison with Primary Care to provide telephone advice including provision of hospital avoidance initiatives.

To undertake inpatient management of medical patients including participation on ward rounds and board rounds.

To provide clinical advice & support to primary care colleagues and other consultants within Health & Care Jersey medical model.

To assist, where appropriate, with the management of patients of a higher acuity within the Enhanced Care Area.

To provide advice and timely medical reviews and interventions as part of the interdisciplinary model of care.

To engage with wider members of the MDT.

To liaise with tertiary referral centres as appropriate to provide patient centred care & service improvements as directed by consultant plans.

Maintain good quality up-to-date medical records including timely discharge letters and summaries.

To ensure appropriate documentation and coding is used to provide consistent audit and monitoring of the service.

To adhere to local prescribing guidelines.>

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Staff Grades in Respiratory, Neurology and Care of the Elderly to join our dynamic team. These roles offer an exciting opportunity to live and work in a stunning island setting, providing high-quality care to a diverse and appreciative population.

As a Staff Grade, you will play a vital role is supporting service delivery, working closely with Consultants, multidisciplinary teams, and the wider hospital community. Whether your expertise lies in Respiratory Care, Neurology or Geriatric Services, we welcome applicants who are committed to clinical excellence, teamwork, and continuous service improvement.

• Experience at Registrar, Staff Grade or Associate Specialist level in (sub speciality)
• 4 or more years post qualification experience in acute medicine
• Enthusiastic Teacher Previous
• Speciality experience in Acute/General Medicine
• Acute Medicine Experience
• Procedural experience:
• Lumbar puncture - Thoracocentesis - Paracentesis - IV Cannulation - Urinary catheterisation - NG tube placement - Midline insertion

• Management Responsibility / Leadership Experience
• Subspeciality Experience
