Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Female Support Worker for a 24 hour contract role in our service in Thurso.
Responsibilities- Support a lady with Down syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder who lives at home with her dad, encouraging her enjoyment of music, dancing and singing.
- Plan and facilitate daily activities such as picnics, day trips, and time spent with her dad and brother.
- Provide patience, compassion and reassurance, recognising her fear of dogs and using a car for community outings.
- Build trust and maintain reliable, honest relationships to support her best interests.
- Monday, Wednesday and Sunday: 9am‑9pm, 9am‑4pm or 4pm‑9pm
- Tuesday and Thursday: 9am‑10pm
- Friday and Saturday: overnight sleepovers on Friday and Saturday nights
- All staff work a mix of shifts, including some sleepovers, to ensure fairness for the team.
- Female candidate (Genuine Occupational Requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
- UK driving licence essential.
- Experience or willingness to support individuals with Down syndrome or autism highly desirable.
- Patience, compassion and ability to manage a fear of dogs.
