JOB DESCRIPTION

Temporary Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a disabled lady living in the Barry area of the Vale of Glamorgan with my 2 grown up children. I use a wheelchair for inside and outside my home due to my disability. I am a friendly, laidback person who needs a Personal Assistant to increase my independence and to keep my home clean and tidy. I enjoy a good chat but can take a little while to get to know people as I am quite shy.

My interests are computers, using the internet, watching TV and swimming.

PURPOSE OF JOB

I need a Personal Assistant to help me with domestic support, personal care and social visits from time to time.

HOURS OF WORK

I am looking for a PA to cover my main PA while she is on maternity. This will come into effect in December. There will be 15 hours per available.

The job will be temporary and last for 10-12 months.

RATE OF PAY

£15.30 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED

Personal Care

To assist with showering/bathing when needed
To assist with dressing when needed

Domestic

To undertake all household tasks thoroughly
Laundry and changing the bed regularly
Some meal preparation at time

Social

Social outings as decided by employer

Any other duties to be discussed and mutually agreed between yourself and your employer

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

Someone who enjoys doing domestic tasks.

A person with a friendly, easy-going manner

Must like dogs and cats

Someone who will be able to support me but not take over

Able to work independently and on their own initiative to previously agreed criteria

Able to work to instruction

Someone trustworthy, reliable and punctual

Someone with a caring and responsible attitude

Be willing to undertake any training identified as relating to the post e.g. Manual Handling Course, Basic First Aid

Someone who will be able to provide sickness and annual leave cover

Car owner/driver who can fit my wheelchair in their car

Someone who will wear a face mask during shifts

APPLICATION FORM

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of six months probationary period. A DBS (CRB) will be needed to be completed; the costs will be met by the employer. The wage will be paid 4 weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.
