Senior Cloud Dev Ops Engineer – Fully Remote (UK only) – Up to £85k

Our global tech client builds advanced cloud and data platforms for large scale, distributed environments. This group is investing heavily in AWS, automation and data driven solutions, and they are hiring a Senior Cloud Dev Ops Engineer who wants ownership, autonomy and the chance to shape future cloud standards.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and wants to work with a wide range of cloud, container and data technologies.
Your core responsibilities- Design, build and maintain AWS environments and ensure they meet industry security standards.
- Promote Dev Ops culture, automation thinking and strong engineering practice across the team.
- Lead technical assessments, risk reviews and architectural improvements for data and cloud workloads.
- Create reusable templates and patterns using Terraform and Cloud Formation to support consistent cloud deployments.
- Manage identity and access, support cloud integrations, analyse performance and recommend improvements to keep systems robust and resilient.
- Degree in computer science, engineering or a similar technical field.
- Five or more years experience in Cloud Dev Ops, Cloud Architecture or Platform Engineering.
- Strong understanding of AWS across compute, networking, identity and databases.
- Solid experience with Terraform and Cloud Formation.
- Confident with SQL, MySQL, Postgres and S3 based storage.
- Comfortable with Linux and shell scripting.
- Experience with Git, Git Hub and CI or CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem solving mindset with the ability to collaborate in a fast paced environment.
- Strong grasp of modern Dev Ops, cloud tooling and configuration management.
- AWS certifications.
- Working knowledge of SOC 2, GDPR or related compliance requirements.
- Networking certifications such as CCNA or CCNP.
- Experience with Kafka, MQTT or other streaming technologies.
- Hands on experience with serverless, ECS or EKS.
- Agile or Scrum exposure.
- Work with a mature AWS ecosystem that includes EKS, Lambdas, MWAA, Confluent and Timescale.
- Help drive the cloud vision and influence standards, guardrails and best practice.
