About the RoleAs Director of Specialist Services you will drive operational excellence and integration across our portfolio of specialist companies, ensuring profitability and superior service delivery to clients.
Key Responsibilities- Manage, support and lead a team of Managing Directors who run individual subsidiary businesses.
- Lead the operational strategy and integration for specialist companies within the Group.
- Drive cross‑selling and in sourcing to enhance profitability and service for our clients.
- Serve as technical and operational authority for specialist services, guiding senior leadership.
- Own commercial performance, including P&L accountability, cost control and margin improvement.
- Support acquisition strategy by assessing fit and leading post‑acquisition integration.
- Implement robust systems for compliance reporting, quality assurance and operational KPIs.
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across business units to leverage synergies and innovation.
- Represent the Group externally as a trusted partner to clients and industry bodies.
- Grow the Fire Safety and Compliance division, overseeing quality assurance and professional competence.
- Proven senior operational leadership in technical services or engineering sectors.
- Strong understanding of compliance frameworks in regulated areas such as Gas, Electrical, HVAC, etc.
- Commercial acumen with P&L management and profitable growth experience.
- Strategic thinker who aligns operational delivery with business objectives.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in acquisition integration and change management.
- Collaborative leadership style respected by peers and external stakeholders.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, technical services or business management.
- Professional memberships in relevant industry bodies (e.g. CIBSE, NICEIC, IFSM) desirable.
- Demonstrable track record of managing multi‑site operations and specialist teams.
