Currently looking to recruit for a Production QC / Stores role in our Lakenheath factory on a full time basis
Contract:
Full time Purpose of the position
Ensuring production quality standards are met & maintained - performing inspections, identifying defects and advising on corrective actions. While managing the flow of materials to Production, ensuring the right items are available at the right time. Ensuring quality products are delivered to consumers on time, minimising waste and rework, where possible.
Day-to-day operationsProduction QC
- In-Process Quality Control:
Monitoring production processes to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and identifying defects early, rather than just at the end. - Final Inspection:
Performing final checks on finished products for functionality, safety, appearance, and packaging compliance before they are released to the store for shipment. - Non-Conformance Management:
Identifying, documenting, and isolating (quarantining) defective products to prevent them from being shipped, and initiating root cause analysis. - Calibration and Documentation:
Maintaining and calibrating measuring equipment and keeping accurate records of tests to ensure traceability. - Process Improvement Feedback:
Communicating with production teams to fix issues at the source, rather than simply reacting to defects. - Receiving Materials:
Unloading, identifying, and verifying the quantity and quality of incoming raw materials against purchase orders. - Inventory Storage & Organization:
Organizing materials in designated, secure locations for safe storage, easy identification, and efficient retrieval. - Material Issuance:
Safely handling and transferring raw materials from storage to the production line based on production schedules. - Stock Monitoring & Reporting:
Conducting inventory checks to compare physical stock with digital records, identifying discrepancies, and managing inventory levels. - Maintaining Safety Standards:
Maintaining a clean and organized work area to prevent damage to materials and ensure safety regulations are met. - Other ad hoc duties as and when required and providing essential cover when other members of team are on leave.
- Inspecting, testing, and verifying that raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products meet specifications and quality standards.
- Managing the physical control, storage, and issuance of materials, components, and finished goods.
- Previous experience of factory production work as well as quality inspection using typical measuring equipment.
- Good attention to detail and a logical, methodical approach ensuring accurate measurements and figures.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
- Able to work within and a team and on your own.
- Must have full access to transport to, from and during work.
Location: Lakenheath factory (Suffolk)
Job Type: Full time (40 hours per week)
