SMT Operator - Barry, Wales

Job Responsibilities

Set up and operate Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machinery to ensure efficient production runs
Conduct routine inspections and quality checks on assembled PCBs to maintain high standards
Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimise downtime
Follow detailed work instructions and technical drawings to ensure accurate component placement
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
Assist in the calibration and maintenance of SMT equipment to ensure optimal operation
Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and quality benchmarks
Document production activities and report any discrepancies or equipment faults to management

Required

Skills & Qualifications

Previous experience operating SMT machinery within a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of PCB assembly processes and electronic components
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
Ability to interpret technical drawings and work instructions accurately
Good organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to electronics manufacturing
Technical certifications related to electronics or manufacturing are advantageous
Proficiency in using measurement tools and inspection equipment

Experience with calibration and routine maintenance of SMT machinery
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach
