Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Cattery Assistant (Cleaner LE3 1UQ)

We are the RSPCA and it's our vision to live in a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion. Our volunteers are incredible, they play an essential role in helping us carry out our important animal welfare work every day.

Much of our direct animal welfare work is carried out through our branches. These separately registered charities across England and Wales are run by volunteers who are unstinting in their work for animal welfare.

This volunteer opportunity is provided by an RSPCA branch, which is a separate registered charity to the RSPCA National Society. Please visit the Branch’s website:  for more info and to view a copy of the branch's privacy policy. Many of the cats in our care have never experienced life in a loving, family home. Whilst waiting for someone to give them a forever home, animals get all the care they need in one of our branch animal centres.

Our volunteer cattery assistants play a vital part in this under the direction of the branch team. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to coming in on a set day/time each week to help with cleaning the cattery. Please note that this is a physical role, including lifting and bending and will require you to be able to carry out tasks without support once fully trained.

Please only apply if you are able to volunteer on one of the shifts shown.

Shifts:

  • Mon: 8:30am – 12:00pm or 1:30pm – 5:00pm
  • Tue: 8:30am – 12:00pm or 1:30pm – 5:00pm

Tetanus is a life‑threatening bacterial disease caused by an infection in an open wound. All volunteers must be suitably protected.
