Position: Preloved Item Detective & Authenticator (Volunteer)

Responsibilities

  • Examining donated items (e.g., clothing, accessories, collectibles, artwork, electronics) to assess authenticity
  • Researching brands, provenance, and market prices using online sources such as eBay
  • Accurately pricing items in line with current second‑hand market trends
  • Identifying rare, high‑value, or specialist items for separate sale or escalation
  • Working closely with the shop team to optimise stock rotation and display
