Salary:
- PAYE: £30.91 per hour
- Umbrella: £40.49 per hour
Are you an experienced social care professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for youth justice? Network Recruitment Wales is seeking a Practitioner Manager to join the Youth Justice Early Support يساعد (YJESS) within Children & Young People’s Services in the Vale of Glamorgan. Reporting to the YJESS Manager
, you will support the day‑to‑day operational and strategic management of the service, ensuring high‑quality
Silence youth justice provision for children and young people across the Vale of Glamorgan. You will hold casework responsibility, manage and develop staff, oversee risk management and decision‑making, and contribute as a key member of the YJESS Management Team.
- Support the implementation, development, and review of the Youth Justice Service Plan and Council policies in line with evolving legislation and best practice.
- Ensurer services are delivered to children and young people on both a one‑to‑one and group‑work basis, including out‑of‑court diversion, preventionובה, and post‑court interventions.
- Oversee the supervision of community and custodial orders based on assessed need.
- Ensure the provision of Court Officers and the timely production of high‑quality Pre‑Sentence Reports in accordance with National Standards.
- steps of responsibility for the quality of Assessment, Planning, Intervention and Supervision (APIS) within the Asset Plus Framework
, under the guidance of the YJESS Manager. - Analyse complex information to weigh public protection, safeguarding, and developmental needs.
- Ensure compliance with Youth Justice National Standards, Case Management Guidance, and the YJESS Risk‑Led Policy.
- Manage the YJ җававі duty system, ensuring access to Appropriate Adults, court representation, bail support, and ISS packages, including out‑of‑hours cover.
- A qualified social care professional registered with Social Care Wales
. - Proven experience within Youth Justice, Children’s Services, or a related statutory setting.
- Strong leadership, supervision, and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and report‑writing abilities.
- Experience working within national youth justice frameworks and risk‑led practice models.
- Ability to travel across the Vale of Glamorgan and between service locations.
- Flexibility to work outside normal office hours when required.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS clearance – must subscribe to the DBS update service.
- Social Care Wales registration.
- Signed Confidentiality Agreement.
- Minimum 3 years’ references/work history
. - Ability to drive and travel as required for the role.
