AssignmentUnder the direction of the Associate Dean/Athletic Director - Kinesiology, the Assistant Coach for Men s Basketball will perform the following:
- Assist in the planning and execution of the basketball program at Barstow College.
- Recruit competitive players.
- Plan and direct conditioning, training, practice and athletic performance of student/athlete team members.
- Maintain team statistics and records.
- Develop and maintain a close relationship with local high school basketball coaches.
- Provide compliance with college rules and policies, the Commission on Athletics as well as other applicable regulatory agencies.
- Perform other work related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have either an Associate s Degree and six years coaching experience; OR Bachelor s degree and two years experience
- Must demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
All course work and degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
