Hospital Maintenance Mechanic

perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.

• replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
• use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
• repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
• paint structures and equipment.
• repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
• replace damaged paneling and floor tiles.
• hang doors and install door locks and replace broken window panes.
• perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• other duties as assigned.

• high school diploma or equivalent (required).
• experience working in an outdoor or indoor building environment (required).

• lifting up to 50 lbs., squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing a ladder, standing for long periods, constant arm extensions.
• occasional exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals; minor safety hazards (e.g., cuts, bruises).
• must pass a local background check and obtain/maintain clearance after hire.

• understand verbal or written direction from lead, supervisor, or other craftsmen.

the rate for this position is $32.80. This position may also be eligible for a wide range of benefits based on applicable bargaining unit agreements.
